Six new Indigenous scholars were welcomed to the University of Calgary campus community through a special Circle of Welcome led by ceremonial Elders. The event was hosted by the Office of Indigenous Engagement with support from People and Culture and the Indigenous Research Support Team.
Ways of Being 2c – Increase representation of Indigenous academic staff, with tenure, in all faculties. This will require concomitant creation of supportive pathways to tenure-track positions for Indigenous scholars and amendments to tenure criteria that recognize Indigenous ways of knowing and being, including obligation to community and recognition of research methodologies.
