Campus Architecture worked with Traditional Knowledge Keepers to shape the Main Campus Landscape Plan and advance multiple campus projects, with some now completed. These initiatives reflect shared guidance, cultural respect, and the integration of Indigenous perspectives into University of Calgary campus planning and development.
Ways of Doing 2 – Develop physical acknowledgements and recognition of Indigenous people’s history and relationship to the land, including plaques that tell the history of Treaty 7 and Métis peoples, inclusion of Indigenous art and architecture, outdoor ceremonial spaces, and landscaping / traditional gardens.
